We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit. With 12 children and 20 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

This is my ranting while listening …..YESSSS THE TRUTH !!!!!! arguing is sooooo FRUSTRATING I totally feel what your feeling on this subject , yes talking about the roots and birth, sharing our birth stories yes birth is a risk, it is not 100% THANK YOU, BIG POINT YOU MAKE!!!!
government control over midwives YES!!! your right a lot of “credentialed” individuals are not educated YES completely different set of values and beliefs are going on I left so many Facebook groups because of this just in the last couple of months I have become more educated, YES just because you TRUST yourself doesn’t mean your UNSAFE, you nailed it comfort ability right if you are not informed you are NOT going to get it we have been brainwashed for years some of us are more capable in believing in the truth others take time, biological birth IS IS IS IS IS BETTER !!! omg responsibility yes it is OURS ………I am taking it. On with the new. I greatly enjoyed this podcast it is your best one yet thank you so much for the empowerment *sigh* …….whatever “label” we are glad there is other like minded women out there

  2. Thank you!!!!!! So glad you were inspired and realize how ALL of us can play such a crucial part in reframing what we know, what we speak about…the kind of births we experience. Thanks so much for your support, and yes…we are not alone!!

  3. […] Is Home Birth Safe? This is a podcast that I am about half way through listening too…it’s great! […]

  4. Lonnie says:

Hit the nail on the head, I can’t express how much likeness my ideals are with Indie Birth. This is how I approach birth and talk about birth all of the time… the difference now being that I have the support of this community and the confirmation that what I innately know to be the truth about birth.

  5. Oh, Maryn! You’re just blowing my mind! Just love this so much. It is so liberating to realize that this question of “safety of homebirth” belongs to the old paradigm of birth. And yes we are here, creating a new paradigm for birth. Also “physiological birth is superior” : BOOM! Thank you so much for being this bold honest authentic true one who walks with women. Love you and love Indie Birth!
